When did this occur? What is the result?

The Darfur crisis started in early 2003. The crisis began when the government started having problems with the ethnic groups of Darfur. This conflict has not yet stopped. It is still currently going on in Darfur, Sudan. In fact, it has gotten worse since January 2007. As a result, at least 200,000 people have been killed and 2.5 million civilians have fled their homes in the last 3 ½ years of fighting.

I think its disgusting how the babies and children have to suffer through this. It's one thing to attack the men who can actually defend themselves, but its sick how the babies have to start out their life like this. They will either starve to death or live an unhealthy, malnourished lifestyle. It must be hard for the parents, especially the mothers to watch their children suffer. Their children should be their number one priority in life, and they must feel like they failed them. I think that conflicts like this should be taken care of within the government leaders in a civilized way. A result shouldn't be starving innocent civilians and babies. The governments need to step up and take responsibility.
